Day One: 16/05/08

This morning, I hightailed it from Davenport to get to the Airport. Dad brought me which was amazing of him...I am very happy to have a family who I can trust in. Dad dropped me off at about 3 and then I went to check in. Well, I copied my passport, mastercard, id, and student ID...and forgot it in the scanner...Thank the Good Lord my amazing mother was there to run it to Omaha for me....

Our plane arrived about 2 and we took a bus to Cuernavaca from Mexico City. When we got here it looked kind of shabby but the countryside was amazing! We got to Cuernavaca and our Mama greeted us at the door. My roommate that is with me acutally is from Iowa State and attends my church St Thomas and we ended up having a lot of similarities! I am excited to get to know her as well as my host mom..She is way cool. We are also living with two other chicas from Minnesota who are here for a 4 week study program. They are very nice also.
Our house..well apartment/condo is very nice but muy muy piqueno. However, we have a pool! Which is AWESOME because there is no water nearby. Our mom cooked us some sopa (soup) for lunch which is the biggest meal of the day, and then we had sweet bread like a cinnamon roll for supper! Here they eat a small meal for breakfast, a large meal at about 2-4, and a very small meal at about 9. We dont really snack between meals either.
Tonight, it rained which seems to be normal here every night. It helped cool down the house!
